Farewell
We’ll see you out there! After just over two years of running this crazy dream of EDC stories and reviews me and Jamie are closing down shop. From every RUclips metric and friendship metric this thing has been a huge success. You guys have showed up time and time again to check out what we are doing and me and Jamie don’t hate each other😁. From our previous experience we knew a media company in the knife world would never fully pay the bills and we ran out of runway trying to get different ways to get this thing off the ground and soaring. We always said we would do things authentically our way, that we would never shill, and we would only tell the stories and share the experiences that w...

I think the real reason Ben likes his little Leatherman so much is because of the day he bought it. Anything new you get on that day is automatically pretty awesome since it the day I was born 62 years ago. 😉 lol But seriously I think the Swiss Army Knives are the best pick for EDC. I always have my little Knipex pliers on me with my Victorinox so I have a better set of pliers than the Leatherman tools have out of the gate. I've tried many times to like carrying a leatherman wave and just couldn't justify the weight. Some pos ended up stealing my wave so I've bought several Multitools since and all of them have ended up in my bob and inch bags. They are pretty great additional tools to have in things like that just not in my pocket. Your much better off using proper tools for everyday tasks because your a lot less likely to strip screwheads, bolts and nuts. Plus the knives on neither tool are as good as a quality pocket knife for cutting tasks imo. Like the Mora knives I didn't think I was a Swiss Army Knife fan until I got one. I do end up using it more than I thought I would. I just don't use the screwdriver if I can avoid it. My favorite part of mine is it's little saw since I'm always messing with wood projects and don't carry around my little folding saws unless I'm heading into my woods.

Great video! Love this. Thank you for sharing! Geometry over steel and heat treatment is something that might take some time to realize. But very true. And that includes not only the edge it self but also the entire blade. Which in effect makes knife making or just shaping so interesting.

If you don't want to spend $250... I bought a much cheaper one from grindworks. I have an expensive single action that I hate, and I ended up buying 2 of the lightening otf knives, which are dual action. They are nearly identical internally to the expensive ones. I'm not sure what their tolerance is, but I haven't had a misfire in 3 years of regular use at work. My expensive knife had to be taken apart, cleaned, and lubed.

Well, as for Big EDC folding knives. I'm glad you mentioned some of the Cold Steel folders. But you talked about the small ones as far as I am concerned. I went a bit nuts and bought, the Cold Steel Voyager Clip point with 5.5 inch blade, and its the smallest. Then the Luzon, with a six inch blade. The Rajah II, you mentioned the Tanto version of that one Cold Steel Knife, but the Rajah II is a fold Khukuri, with a Six Inch blade, the Tri Ad lock and the blade thickness is right about 3/16ths of an inch. And its a beast. 14 inches over all. I'm glad you touched on the Espada, I have the XL version with the 7.5 inch AUS10a steel blade, and the G10 handles. About half the price of the Fancy one. I have a Buck 110, and I've had it for years, but its small when compared to the Cold Steel Folders. Oh, and all of the Cold Steel Folders, can be opened and closed, one handed.

I would think button lock over a cross bar lock. I’ve handed knives with a crossbar lock to people thinking it was really intuitive and they try to press it like a button lock. Button lock is the most intuitive locking mechanism for a non knife person imo. Definitely think people struggle the most with a liner lock/frame lock in my experience. Great video guys.

I found over the years that some inexpensive knives (under $100) work best for me. If a gun company puts its name on a knife, you will get more than your money's worth. They won't put their name on a POS. If you lose one you won't be crying in your beer for months. I retired my most expensive knife (Benchmade) when I left the fire service because I was afraid, I might lose it. I have never abused a knife more than that knife. It did everything I needed it to do.
